Story Development Going Into High Gear

Though Portland Studios has been serving clients with illustration and animation for over three years now, we have been moving more and more towards producing our own content and products. Don Pape of Alive Communications in Colorado Springs represents the studio as our literary agent. Our writers and artists develop children’s book and graphic novel concepts, pitch them to the group, then pass them along to Stephanie Young, our Story Development Coordinator. Stephanie works with the artist/developer to ensure that the story’s writing and plot is working well, then works to produce an official literary proposal that we send off to Don Pape, our agent. Currently Don is sending book proposals out to a variety of editors—-and we’ve been getting back some significant response on several ideas. More to come as those projects move forward.
