Our Wendy has left us.

Jenny Peterson, who served as traffic manager, dispenser of pleasantness, and minister of responsibility, left us. She is heading off to Clemson with her husband Joe while he pursues some graduate work. In the meantime we will beat each other with sticks and burn the place down until Hallie comes in later today.

Though we wish the best for Jenny and Joe, we cannot look at the smiley-faced “Wash Your Dishes” sign without getting a lump in our throat.

“Wendy was grown up. You need not be sorry for her. She was one of the kind that likes to grow up. In the end she grew up of her own free will a day quicker than the other girls.” –J.M. Barrie in Peter Pan.
