Installment Three

The short awaited last installment!

NARRATOR: The next morning The Monkeys woke to the sound of Bird at the bottom of their tree.

BIRD: (singing beautifully) The Li-li-li-yon, is go’n a be your die-di-yon

MONKEY: Say, is dat a new song? It’s new!

BIRD: (singing beautifully) I say the Li-li-li-on, is go’n a be your die-di-yon

MONKEY: Come bird sing this new tune for us.

SFX: Monkey laugh.

BIRD: You have broken my wing so you must come down to hear.

MONKEY: He says we must go down.

MONKEY: Okay. We will come down, but you must sing.

BIRD: I would feel quite privileged.

NARRATOR: Unable to resist such perceived flattery, the monkeys hopped down in a blink.

BIRD: (sings) The Li-li-li-on is go’n a be your die-di-yon.

(From a distance).

LION: (sings) I say the Li-Li-li-on is go’n a be your die-di-yon.

MONKEY: (sings) That Li-li-li-on is go’n a be our die-die-yon.

(BIRD hums along as the LION starts his song).

LION: (Sings) I’m comin’ to eat you up.
Oh, I’m a comin’ to eat you up.
You’d better run
For I’ll never be out done
Cause I’m comin’ to eat you up.

MONKEYS: (Sing) Oh, he’s comin to eat us up.

BIRD: (Sings) Li-Li-Li-yon, is go’n a be your die-die-yon.

LION: (Sings) You’d better run away

MONKEY: (Sings) We’d better run away-hey.

LION: (Sings) Cause if I catch you
I make some monkey stew
And chew you through and through
Cause I’m comin’ to eat you up.

MONKEYS: (Sing) Oh, He’s comin’ to eat us up.

LION: (Sings) You filled me with dismay
So now it’s fresh monkey flambe.
Oh, I’m comin’ to eat you up.
So I’d like you to bring ketchup.

MONKEY: (Sings) Cause he’s comin’ to eat us up.

NARRATOR: Well, the monkeys jigged and jagged and danced around the tree as Lion got closer and closer. They waved their fingers in the air and sang at the tops of their voices

MONKEY: (Sings) Li-Li-Li-on, is go’n a be our die-die-yon.

NARRATOR: Lion crept nearer and neaer as he sang, and the monkeys were too involved with the music to notice.

Soon, the quartet became a trio…(snap!) then a duo…(snap!) then…

MONKEY: (Singing) Oh, I’d better run away.
I said I’d better run this d—

Snap!

BIRD: (Sings) You said, he’d better run this day.

LION: (Big ending) I said, he’d better run away.

NARRATOR: That night the Lion slept very soundly—the undisputed jungle king, and champion of animal laws.

THE END

Was this developed in house? (I’m assuming it was, but I just wanted to check…) And if so, who was responsible? or was it a collaberative effort?

I’m responsible for the monkey deal. Don’t be mad.

Wonderful. Absolutely charming. Now I want YouTube-style video blogs of you performing this - songs included. I look forward to reading your future bloggings (which will be in a moment since I’m reading them chronologically).

So now that you’re through with this, how do you feel your “hot/cold” experiment worked? Perhaps another post on the subject is in order. . . .
