Apocalypse … Later

Because the Apocalyptic Robot post is generating such enthusiasm, folks here want more time to spend on it. This means that the Apocalyptic Robot post will not be this Friday, but next Friday. If I gave you this news in person, I would probably feel a little shy about it, because after all, I did say “this” Friday. However, I lack embarrassment because in the words of Cicero, “A letter does not blush.”

Lest you should be annoyed too terribly, there will be a special mystery post this Friday. I’m not sure exactly what it will be, but I know that it will be something.

I will leave you with a quote from Pericles of Athens, because … well, who doesn’t need a quote from Pericles of Athens?

“The whole earth is the tomb of heroic men and their story is not given only on stone over their clay but abides everywhere without visible symbol woven into the stuff of other men’s lives.”

Be sure to use this quote among your friends and co-workers today. Also, just a tip, after you say it, pause for just a second, then say confidently, “Pericles of Athens” like you’re hitting a paper with a rubber stamp.

Good luck!

Sweet quote! My wife just gave me, “That’s nice dear.” But I for one felt better about myself for quoting Pericles of Athens.
