Society of Illustrators

In today’s mail, Justin and Corey received confirmation that they are admitted into the Society of Illustrators. Soon they will learn the secret handshake. These are the pieces that will be included in the 50th Illustrators Annual.

This is the aptly titled “Beowulf and Grendel.”

This piece is called “Grimble Crossing the Alps.” Grimble is a character featured in Corey’s upcoming novel, Jack and Inar.

These are stills, from Corey’s Ruin of the Beast video, which you can watch on youtube.

Verbruiker

This is a drawing of the Verbruiker. He plays a pivitol role in the dessert mythologies of the Dutch. He is noteable for gobbling up the mythic Olaf the Olykoek (Olykoek literally means “oily cake”). Olaf is regarded by some scholars as a heroic figure, while others note that a few Danish songs from the 1600s speak less than favorably of Olaf as the Olykoek who covered Bavaria in cream. At any rate, the Verbruiker is here renderd by the loving hand of Mr. Justin Gerard.

Read it and weep Koelle!

It is not my intention to brag, but it is my intention to let everyone know that Zach Franzen is now the office Pac-Man Champ! BAM! Also, should you meet me on the sidewalk it is not inappropriate to call me “Champ.”
