On Fire!

Yesterday night, Justin saw a huge column of smoke outside. “There’s a fire!” he yelled. We hopped in his car, followed the smoke, parked on the side of the road, and snapped some photos. Here are three. We are awash in drama!

Epic and Local

This weekend I finished reading All the King’s Men.

I’ve been ingesting information on Beowulf lately, and it has made me crave a book on southern politics the way a pregnant woman craves dirt. (A point of clarification: I’ve been told that pregnant women sometimes have urges to eat dirt, because their body craves iron. Who knows if that’s true? The guy who told me this seemed to think that it was common knowledge).

Flurry of Activity

Today at the new office, the construction workers were finishing up the drop ceilings, installing all the light switches, screwing in light bulbs, and prepping the bathroooms to have the floors put in. I’m sure I’m bugging them by going up to check on the space so often, but I can’t help myself. Its sort of like wanting to check your email or Facebook page over and over again throughout the day, just to see if something might be different than last time. Know what I mean?
